The HELP Institute is designed to equip individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in today's competitive job market. Through a combination of comprehensive curriculum, practical training modules, and personalized support, participants are empowered to enhance their employability and pursue fulfilling career opportunities. These modules include interactive workshops, hands-on training sessions, guest lectures from industry experts, and practical exercises to reinforce learning.
Participants engage in experiential learning activities, case studies, and projects to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios, fostering a deeper understanding of concepts and enhancing problem-solving abilities. These certifications are designed to span a period of up to six months.
SMART Maintenance Technician

Developed in collaboration with the START and AHLEI Credentialed Maintenance Technician Training Program is a comprehensive course designed to provide participants with the specialized knowledge and skills required to excel as maintenance technicians in the hospitality industry. This program combines industry-specific training with recognized credentials to ensure participants are well-prepared for success in their roles.
SMART Certified Kitchen Cook​

This program combines industry-specific training with recognized credentials to ensure participants are well-prepared for success in the culinary field.
SMART Guestroom Attendant

This program combines industry-specific training with recognized credentials to ensure participants are well-prepared for success in maintaining guestrooms to the highest standards.
ServSafe Food Handler

Developed in collaboration with ServSafe, this is a comprehensive training course designed to educate individuals on the principles of safe food handling practices in the food service industry. This course is essential for anyone involved in the preparation, handling, or serving of food, including food service workers, chefs, kitchen staff, and restaurant managers.
Customer Service & Sales

Developed in collaboration with the NRF Foundation's RiseUp, this course aims to equip individuals with the essential skills and knowledge necessary to excel in the fields of customer service and sales within the retail industry. The course covers a wide range of topics essential to providing exceptional customer experiences and driving sales success.
Business of Retail

Developed in collaboration with the NRF Foundation's RiseUp, this course is designed to provide individuals with a comprehensive understanding of the foundational principles and practices essential to success in the retail industry. This course offers a deep dive into various aspects of retail operations, management, and strategy, equipping participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in diverse retail environments.
Warehouse, Inventory & Logistics

Developed in collaboration with the Association for Supply Chain Management Foundation, this course will help your participants understand the importance of supply chains and the flow of goods. They will see how warehouses are designed and operated and practice calculating and explaining key performance metrics. They’ll learn about safety measures and explore critical warehousing roles and how to succeed in those jobs.

PHOTO IDENTIFICATION
Must have valid identification. Some exceptions may apply.
PROOF OF RESIDENCE
Must have documented residence in Davidson County or Homeless.
PROOF OF INCOME
Must have income below the federal poverty level or no income.
DOCUMENTATION
Must meet with a Case Manager to complete some documents.
VISITS
Must be able to attend in-person or virtual appointments weekly.
