Our Mission

We enhance human
well-being by empowering individuals to reach
self-sufficiency.

The mission of The HELP Center is to provide ex-offenders, offenders, and low-income individuals with the support they need to restructure their lives and achieve success through counseling, educational, employment, and supportive services.

Our History

Rooted in compassion, growing through service.

The HELP Center was established in 2014 by Tamika Braden in response to the growing need for support services among underserved communities, including individuals facing significant barriers to employment and reintegration. Since its founding, The HELP Center has expanded its reach, offering a broad range of services aimed at assisting ex-offenders, offenders, and low-income individuals. The organization has grown from a small local initiative into a leading nonprofit service provider, known for its commitment to improving the lives of its clients and achieving lasting outcomes. Throughout its history, The HELP Center has continually evolved its programs to meet the changing needs of the communities it serves, adapting to emerging challenges and expanding its service capacity to reach a larger demographic.

The HELP Center has extensive experience in delivering comprehensive services that address the multifaceted needs of vulnerable populations.

With a focus on employment and training, the organization equips individuals with the skills and knowledge required to secure and sustain meaningful employment through a range of work readiness and vocational training programs. Additionally, The HELP Center actively combats food insecurity by providing essential resources to ensure individuals and families have access to nutritious meals. The Center’s addictions recovery program offers a compassionate and supportive environment, guiding individuals through recovery while providing access to critical services such as counseling and financial assistance.

Further, The HELP Center’s case management and supportive services are tailored to empower participants by addressing housing, transportation, and other personal barriers to success. Through this holistic approach, The HELP Center has consistently helped individuals rebuild their lives, fostering long-term stability and

self-sufficiency.
